Dr. Romesh Jayasinghe

Dr. Romesh Jayasinghe started his career first as a computer instructor and later became a programmer before venturing into the education and training field. He is a World Prize Gold Medal winner of the Institute of Data Processing Management (Kent, UK) Diploma level Data Processing II external examination held in December 1994. He holds an American Bachelors Degree in Computing and Information Systems with an emphasis in Management (cum laude) and a British Graduate Diploma in Education. He was also later conferred with an Honorary Doctor of Philosophy Degree (Honoris Causa) in Education for his extensive services and contribution to the Higher and Professional Education and Training sector in Sri Lanka.

He was a popular IT and Management lecturer and trainer in Sri Lanka for a number of years who later trained in Advanced Psychological Counselling and Psychotherapy and specialised in Stress Management and Hypnotherapy. He has earned specialized Sri Lankan and British Diplomas in Psychology, Advanced Psychotherapy and Counselling, Advanced Stress Management, Child Psychology, Human Rights, Hypnotherapy, Complementary Therapies, Philosophy, and Business Administration.

He is currently the Managing Director of Romesh Jayasinghe Associates (Pvt.) Ltd., a newly established company specialising in corporate management consultancy and training services in Sri Lanka. He is also the Founder and Director of Studies of the Global Education and Training Centre (GETC) and the Institute of Mental Health (IMH) in Sri Lanka.

Dr. Romesh Jayasinghe has excellent public speaking and presentation skills in the English language with a wide ranging experience in conducting lectures, seminars and workshops to a broad range of audiences for natives and foreigners both in Sri Lanka and overseas. Dr. Jayasinghe is a member of numerous educational / scientific organisations including the Chartered Management Institute UK and the Association for Psychological Sciences USA.

Dr. Jayasinghe was officially chosen and listed as one of the “2000 Outstanding Intellectuals of the 21st Century” and also awarded the coveted International Educator of the Year 2007 Gold Medal by the International Biographical Centre (IBC) of Cambridge, England.
