Mary is a Spanish bilingual, Argentinean-born coach and trainer focused on intercultural competence, cross-cultural understanding and intercultural adaptability. Since moving to the USA in 1999, she has helped health care professionals communicate across cultures and has worked directly and indirectly with organizations such as the U.S. Department of Health, 911, Medicare, Medicaid, John Hopkins Hospital, UCLA Medical Center, Massachusetts General Hospital, NYC Health and Hospital Corporation, Visiting Nurse services of New York, United Healthcare, Kaiser Group Health, Anthem Blue Cross, Cigna Health Care, PacifiCare, Pfizer and Roche Laboratories.
Mary began her career as a Spanish Medical Interpreter, handling an average of thirty medical assignments per day, both routine and emergency, which ranged from pediatrics, internal medicine and gynecology to psychiatry, genetics, endocrinology, neurology and neurosurgery.
In the past, Mary interacted with international clients and colleagues while working as a Language Instructor in multinational organizations such as Nestle and Siemens. She provided instruction to expatriate professionals and executives in charge of coordinating foreign-based and expatriate teams. She also led Leadership Seminars and Social Participation Workshops in Finnish and U.K.- partnered NGOs in Argentina and has worked in U.S.-Mexican projects by the U.S. Consulate in Tijuana and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.
She has lived, studied and worked for extended periods in three countries: Argentina, the UK and the USA. She has also traveled and done on-location research in some 25 countries around Europe and North and South America.
Mary holds an Honors B.F.A. in Business and Film and Television from New York University and a Certificate in Spanish Court Interpreting from the Southern California School of Interpreting. She is currently completing a Certified Professional Coach Program at the International Coach Academy, based in Sydney, Australia, and she has studied Portuguese and Hebrew in addition to being bilingual in Spanish.
