Dr. Sivam Chandrasekhar's first graduation was in Chennai, India, at the Madras University, with a Bachelor’s in Chemical Engineering. He pursued further studies and holds post graduate degrees, namely, MSc in Chemical Engineering, from the Johns Hopkins University and a doctoral degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Pittsburgh. He worked for the Amoco Chemicals Corporation, now British Petroleum, in their Research and Development Division, till 1975, and then pursued his professional career in India. Associated with an engineering consultancy organization and followed it up with contract assignments for the Planning Commission (Government of India), Bureau of Industrial Costs and Prices, Ministry of Industry (Government of India), culminating in an assignment as the Chief executive of the Biotech Consortium (India) Ltd. , set up by the Department of Science and technology, Government of India and the All India Financial Institutions. Dr. Sivam's work skills include among others, leadership, administration, planning, research and development, and project execution (from the late 1960’s till the early part of this century), before entering the counseling and life coaching area.
About 5 year back together with his wife he decided to switch areas of specialization and further his studies in life coaching and Psychology, and has since then been offering coaching services to individuals and executives. He has been counseling and offering services as coache in a clinical healthcare work environment for the past 3 years. After obtaining their coaching certification from an ICF accredited Coaching Academy Sivam Chandrasekhar and his wife have also started offering services to clients from all over the world through Tele Coaching. This switch was based on their common life passion, to interact with individuals, groups and the corporate sector, with a view to making a difference in their lives!
